A Dutch couple processed the adoption. Siblings of the baby believe he was adopted to Sweden or Netherlands.

የኃላ መረጃ ወይም ቀድመ ታርክ / Background information or story This child was born at Tikur Anbesa Hospital in Addis Ababa in 1981 to his mother Botoru. The father of the child, Mekuria, was in the south of Ethiopia for work. Botoru died during the birth. Family members were told that both mother and child had died, however the child lived. Mekuria, being far away, understood that they had both died. The child was not named, and he was not seen after the birth.
Recently the baby’s older siblings had the opportunity to speak to the nurse who attended his birth, Sister Kassanesh who used to work at Timur Anbessa Hospital. She is now retired. According to her, the child was not dead, the child had remained in Tikur Anbesa Hospital until he was 6 months old. Then he was transferred to a children’s home in Janmeda called Ethio-Swedish. After that, he was adopted. Sister Kassanesh doesn’t remember the exact adoption year and the name of the adoptive parents, but she said he was adopted by a Dutch or Swedish family.
